Yala National Park:

Udawalawa National Park:
This park is famous for this park also has the jungles and wild animals in it. The most commonly visible animal of this park is the Asian elephant. Though this park does not hold much variety of mammals, a huge range of birds can be seen here.
Wasgamuwa National Park:
There are many kinds of animals in this park. The exceptional feature of this park is the presence of the leopards and bears. It is also famous because of the visibility of elephants to visitors.
Sinharaja Forest Reserve:
This park is best known for plenty of flocks. These flocks have been an area of interest for the researchers. Though there are not many animals in this park the long trees and the plants can give a beautiful and relaxing scene to the eyes.
Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks:
These parks are best known for the visibility of the seasonal elephants along with the presence of the large flocks. During the months of September and October, there are hundreds of elephants that come in the lake of Minneriya and give a fascinating scene to the viewer’s eyes.
Horton Plains National Park:
This park is situated near the city of Nuwara Eliya. It is at a distance of 5 hours from Colombo. This is the best place to see the birds from a height of around 880 meters. It is the highest plateau located on the island. This area contains wild animals that are fond of living in a colder climate.
Wilpattu National Park:
This park has an exceptional variety of wild animals that are sloth bears. It is located close to Anuradhapura. It is the largest park of Sri Lanka. This park is also famous for the leopards along with the most terrifying and adventurous big cats. This park is quite similar to that of Yala National Park. There are also chance in this park for seeing the barking deer.
Knuckles Wilderness:
This park is strange because it does not have any variety of leopard of elephants, rather it is famous different kinds of lizards. Endemic lizards are most commonly seen in this park. Dwarf lizards are also visible in this park along with the Tennant’s leaf-nosed lizard.
The whale Watching Triangle:
This point is famous for watching whales in a closer view. Mirrisa which is the blue whale is the specialty of this area. Kalpitiya ( also known as sperm whales ) and dolphins can also be seen in the whale watching triangle. This point is located close to the Dutch fort. It can be reached in about 1.5 hours from Colombo.
