Talalla Beach Sri Lanka – A Complete Travel Guide for Vacationers

Where is Talalla Beach in Sri Lanka?

Encompassing by many coconut palms, Talalla Beach is another white sand beach located on the South coast of Sri Lanka at the distance of 190 km from Colombo via express. Even though the beach is not too far from the primary arrival city of Sri Lanka, Colombo,  still many travellers ignore it. It’s a less discover, spotless, wide and stunningly beach with amazing views. Many times you would find it uncrowned unless you visit it on the weekend day. It’s another Sri Lanka beach that was damaged by the 2004 Tsunami. Although more than 14 years passed, still Talalla town is not well developed.

Since Talalla Beach located next to Galeit’s better you first spend some time in Gale and enjoy its breathtaking beauty and then visit Talalla Beach for relax and make yourself closer to beach life. Although swimming is here possible, You MUST BE CAREFUL as sometimes it’s too dangerous to perform swimming hereSurfing is allowed here and waves close so quickly. The beach is located between the fishery village Gandara and Koattagoda. I viewed so many fishermen on the beach. If you are lucky enough like me and stay there overnightyou can view the sunset and the sun rising on the beach which was the most memorable moments of my trip. Another thing that I liked here is not crowded I felt like that I am laying in my home. This is a noiseless area and I tried to understand waves. This beach is an excellent alternative to Pasikudah and KalKudah beaches.

Where to Eat?

There is no much restaurant close to the beach. You would find vegetable seafood at almost every restaurant. I ate at Zephyr Talalla restaurant which offers cocktails, Mango, passion, orange, coconut water, cumin and redrum. Staff is appreciatable and the food was delicious. On top of that, Zephyr is located at a good location with clear beach view.

Where to Stay?

I personally stayed at Talalla beach resort for a night. Room was spacious, clean with Facilities Swimming Pool, Beachfront & Bar. I  paid $27 for a sea view room and price include breakfast. I would defiantly recommend Talalla beach resort for staying. One word of warning, If you interested in the homestay, ignore folks who are walking and street. They will charge 30-40% commission so it is best you walk yourself and directly ask homeowners I am sure they would’not bite you.
