  3. Take the Path Near Bandaramulla Temple: Just past the temple, you’ll see a narrow road (Secret Beach Road). Turn left onto this road. The path is unmarked, but locals often refer to it when asked about Secret Beach.
  4. Follow Secret Beach Road: Walk along Secret Beach Road. This road will lead you through a residential area. You’ll pass by a few houses and guesthouses. The road can be uneven, so watch your step.
  5. Spot the Small Cafe: Continue walking until you reach a small local cafe called Secret Beach Bar & Restaurant. This cafe is a sign that you’re getting close to the beach. You can stop here for refreshments if you like.
  6. Descend to Secret Beach: Just past the cafe, you’ll see a dirt path that leads downhill. This is the final stretch to Secret Beach. The path can be a bit steep and rocky, so proceed carefully. Wear sturdy shoes to navigate this part safely.

Drivers can park and enjoy a short walk to the beach – it’s only about 100 meters away! Plenty of parking is available, with locals often renting out their driveways or yards for a small fee, like Rs 200.

What to do Nearby Secret Beach?

  • Footwear: Wear comfortable and sturdy shoes. The path can be uneven and rocky, especially near the beach.
  • Carry Stick: On the way to Secret beach, I saw a dog barking at a tourist. She was really scared! Luckily, I had a stick with me. I used the stick to scare the dog away and help the tourist.
  • Hydration: Carry water to stay hydrated, especially on hot days.
  • Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen and wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
  • Snacks: Pack some snacks if you plan to spend a long time at the beach, as there are limited food options.
